Do you have a problem with bringing in customers to your website?

It is a normal dilemma faced by businesses selling their products primarily through their websites.

There are literally millions of websites online and therefore it can be challenging to stand out among the crowds.

However, there are so many approach that you can do to attract online customers to your website. Some may be a bit obvious and some can be a bit new to you. So here we go.

Utilize The Power of Social Media

Social media is already a norm in our daily online live. I am pretty sure you have your own account to Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or whatever it may be.

But does your business has one or maybe more? If your business or website has none of it, then you are missing out a great opportunity.

Does having a presence in social media will ensure more visitors or most importantly, bring more customers to your website? The answer is yes…. If you know what to do and take advantage of the social media platform.

Regularly Post Your Activities or Product Promotion with Social Media

First and foremost, make sure that your business or at least you, have an account for all, if not most of the more famous social media platform such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, and Google Plus.

Next up, you should be regularly updating your latest product offering. Regularly means at least once or twice weekly. The more frequent, the better. Some website or business post their updates on a daily basis.

Nothing much to post about? It doesn’t have to be about your product. Your updates can be anything related to your industry such as the latest trend or news.

Don’t forget to install a social media box widget into your website as well. An example of this is the Facebook Fan Box.

This will ensure that your website looks fresh and active in the eyes of your visitors/customers and also the search engine like Google and Bing.

Another tip to get more followers on your social media account is to follow other groups and influential people in the social media.

Make It Viral!

Do you want your website to experience a sudden surge in visitors and potential customers to your website?

Well, you can attempt to create something sensational or even controversial on your website. It could be in any form you want. It could be in article form, picture form or better still, video format.

Just make sure that it is something you are comfortable enough to post into your own website.

Below are just a few examples of what has gone viral through the social media and in turn made their business more well known and shot their profit to the roof!

Create A Blog Section For Your Website

This is another powerful way to create constant traffic or visitors to your website that in turn can be converted into your loyal customers.

So what is a blog?

blog pic

A blog is essentially a series of information or “post” in your website.

If your website don’t already have one, you should definitely really consider opening a blog section on your website or at least a specific blog that link to your official website.

A consistent and regular information through your blog or blog section in your website can really help to attract visitors or potential customers consistently in the long term.

How come a regular and consistent informational blog post can attract traffic to your websites you might ask. It is simple really.

This is because people are hungry for new information and have always been looking for a solution for their problem. Do you notice that nowadays, what most people do, to look for information? They just simply Google for the information that they are looking for. We no longer have to drive or walk all the way to the library or open an encyclopedia to look for information.

Therefore, the best post for a blog is usually a post that can help your potential customer solve their problem. Write about how your product can be beneficial to your potential customers and solve their problem or issues.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t have to be always like that as this can be repetitive and boring to you and your audience. You can also post anything that is related to your website, such as the latest news and trend in your market/industry, your thoughts and opinions and also others.

If you don’t have much time to write a blog post, you can consider to engage or collaborate a writer to write on your behalf, or engaged a freelance writer from sites such as Fiverr or Elance for example.

Your Post Is Indexed By Googlegoogle logo

One reason why a blog can help to bring customers to your website is that big search engine companies such as Google and Bing, constantly scoured the internet world looking for new information and development.

An active website with an active blog and social media activities, will attract bots or “spiders” from Google and help to bring up your websites through the search engine rankings.

A website that is regularly “visited” by bots from search engines because of regular content updates, will make your website more “searchable”. Consistent content and updates through your website will give a good signal or indication to the search engine that your website is active and have fresh quality content worth ranking.

This means your website or business is much easier to be found when searched in a particular search engine platform, thus more opportunities to be found by your potential customers.

Look For Profitable Keywords

In the online marketing world, keyword means key word or phrases in your website content that make it possible for people to find your site via search engines. A website that is well optimized for search engines will make the website way easier to be searched and visited by potential customers.

What is the type of best keyword

The best keyword are those which are low in competition, but have a high number of searches.

These types of keywords are called long tail keywords or “low hanging fruit” keywords.

Technique to discover profitable keyword

The Alphabet Soup Technique

One of the most basic and easiest way to find potential profitable keywords for free is the alphabet soup technique. It is a great way to start your keyword research as it will show you in general what people are usually looking for in the internet.

Let me give you a quick example on how it works.

Let say that you are in a tennis sports equipment business.

Assuming that you are looking for a potential keyword at what type of tennis racket that people usually search for online.

You start by typing a certain particular word or sentence in the search area of a search engine like Google.

Google Search tennis racket1

Immediately you know that when you type the word “tennis racket”, most people are looking at what type of size, bag, and cover for their tennis racket.

If you add in the word “type”, you will see below,

Google Search tennis racket2

From here, you already know that people are not only looking for the type of tennis racket, but also the type grips, choosing grip size, and how to choose a tennis racket.

This should give you an idea what to share or write about in your “tennis website”. Consider to sometimes write with the word racquet as well because people also search for that particular term.

Invest In A Powerful Keyword Research Tool

Although the alphabet soup technique is a very good technique for keyword research that you can do for free, it can very cumbersome if you are looking to do a comprehensive keyword research for your business or niche market.

To save time and headache, I would highly recommend you to invest in a powerful and reputable keyword research toosl. There are some really good software out there that you can choose from such as Keyword Samurai, Long Tail Pro, Google Keyword Planner etc.

My Keyword Research Tool of Choice is Jaaxy

Jaaxy Image1

Let me cut to the chase here.

My favorite keyword research tool is Jaaxy and I’ve never looked back since.

Jaaxy is an all in one solution for a keyword research tool and most keyword research take less than a minute to uncover many potential profitable keywords like gold nuggets if you will.

Let me show an example of a quick research on the very same keyword that we have used just now.

Jaaxy Tennis Racket Type

As you can see above, I have uncovered all kinds of keywords relating to “tennis racket type” using Jaaxy. The research above took me less than a minute.

If you have never used Jaaxy before, the important indicators are:

AVG: Average number of searches of a certain keyword receive in a month

KQI (Keyword Quality Indicator): Indication of the quality of a certain keyword

QSR (Quoted Search Results): The most important factor, because QSR indicates the exact number of competing websites ranked in a search engine such as Google for the exact keyword.

SEO Power Score: A score on traffic and competition. The higher the better.

Honestly speaking all the keywords are good quality ones. But if you look carefully at the list, there are some really potentially great keywords that you can take advantage of.

For example, every month a lot of people are searching for “tennis racket sale”. On average 135 people are searching for it and the number of competing websites, the QSR is only 74 in the whole online world.  Therefore, you should definitely want to make a special page dedicated for “tennis racket sale”.

You can also see that “junior tennis racket” is quite in demand as well. People are also looking at Prince tennis racket and Wilson brand for racket bags. You would be smart to sell more junior tennis racket online, and do more promotion for Prince tennis racket and Wilson racket bags.

I have shared some more technique using the alphabet soup technique and Jaaxy keyword tool from my previous post that you can do further reading below:

How Do I Get Customers To My Website
There are so many approach that you can do to attract online customers to your website. Some may be a bit obvious and some can be a bit new to you. So here we go.

I decided to start my own online business so that I can escape the rat race that I am in. Things are really progressing well and it is just a matter of time before I can be finally free from my 9-5 job. With ratracebuster.com, I hope I can help other people to escape or avoid the rat race through learning the online business and other legitimate opportunity in the online world. I will be reviewing products, sharing discussions, and blog about my online business ventures as well.

  1. Well done! I really enjoyed your article.

I like how you went into great detail with each of these methods, and gave screenshots of exactly what you were talking about. Trust me, read a lot of these and you will find most do not provide in depth information.

What do you think about the free WA keyword tool? I still use it and it works pretty wonderfully. I do hope to upgrade sometime down the road when I have the funds to.

Also, I think SERPS are very important as well. Knowing how competitive the keyword is means more than looking at that traffic number in Jaaxy. I recently learned that just because it’s low, does not mean it’s easy to rank for. It entirely depends on the quality of said competition. If most of the websites you’re competing against are e-commerce sites, amazon, or big retail stores, it’s wise to perhaps put that idea on the back burner and look for another low hanging fruit keyword.

Hope this extra tidbit may help someone else down the road.. Great logo by the way!

    • Hi Stu, thank you very much for adding your valuable input here!

I guess I forgot to mention about the importance of SERPS over here. You got a very valid point over here where little competition doesn’t necessarily means your keyword is easy to rank, especially when the first page of the search engine are dominated by those big e-commerce sites. However, we should not lose hope though. Usually, there are always great quality keywords somewhere that we can find and make use of, if we do our research and due diligence.

That is why I love to use Jaaxy as my keyword tool of choice. WA keyword tool is great too, no problem. Jaaxy just help my keyword research in record time and therefore, I don’t have to spend too much time second guessing my keyword of choice.

  2. Full of informative material,

Thank You for sharing. I just signed up for my free trial of Jaaxy keyword search. I have been working on my site for a couple of weeks now and kinda feel like I’m cheating viewing and learning from your description. Again thank you I will be checking back with you in near future.

    • Hi Mike, not a problem for me. I would be very happy if you can take away something from my post here that you can learn and implement for your website. Good luck in attracting customers to your website Mike!

  3. Hi, thanks for this materials.

This is a nice summary of how to get traffic to your website.
I’m currently doing a lot of social media and keyword research. Do you know if there is any website or service that provides free traffic to your website? I know that organic searches are the best way, but just asking to see if you know. ( I think I heared of a program called Traffic Monsoon or somemthing like that)

Hope you can help me out.

    • Hi Kevin, ya I know what are you talking about. I’ve tried paid advertising like traffic monsoon before this. Here me out here, you can get like massive traffics to your website via this paid advertising method but…. the quality of the visitors coming to your website is at best, disappointing. Why? Because those visitors usually are not that interested in your product, but rather wait for their “timer” or “countdown” to finish before moving on to other website simply to collect points or pennies.

You want real advertising? You can try Facebook ad and they are not that expensive. The best paid ad? Google adwords but they can be very expensive depending on your keyword.

      Hope this helps Kevin. Cheers!

  4. very great blog. the information present in this very useful for us. thank you for sharing with us
